The Government of India is evaluating a new blockchain-backed verification system known as the Solar Installer Reputation & Compliance Ledger (SIRCL-2026), which would create a permanent trust score for rooftop solar installers nationwide. Officials told SolSetu that the system aims to reduce fraud, improve accountability, and help consumers choose reliable installation companies.

With rooftop solar adoption accelerating under national subsidy programs, the need for a transparent installer reputation system has become increasingly important.

Why SIRCL-2026 Is Being Discussed

The rooftop sector continues to face challenges such as:

• Installers disappearing after installation and ignoring service requests
• Fake promises of output guarantees not backed by documentation
• Over-sizing/under-sizing systems to mislead consumers
• Low-quality components used despite “premium” claims
• Duplicate invoices and inconsistent warranty papers

SIRCL-2026 would store all installer activity on a tamper-proof digital ledger.

How the Reputation Ledger May Work

The proposed system may include:

• Blockchain-sealed service records (install date, technician name, quality rating)
• Customer complaint and resolution history
• Component authenticity verification integrated with SHAVS-2026
