Government Plans National Rooftop Solar Grievance Redressal Dashboard for 2026 to Speed Up Consumer Complaint Resolution

The Indian government is preparing a dedicated National Rooftop Solar Grievance Redressal Dashboard (SGRD-2026) to address consumer complaints related to rooftop solar installation, service quality, subsidy delays, and fraud cases. Officials familiar with the development told SolSetu that the dashboard will serve as a unified national platform where consumers can submit issues and track their resolution in real time.

This move is aimed at reducing the rising number of unaddressed complaints across DISCOMs, installers, and state portals.

What Problems the Dashboard Will Solve

Currently, rooftop solar consumers often face challenges such as:

  • Delayed net-metering approvals
  • Incorrect system installation or wiring issues
  • Subsidy verification delays
  • Installer disputes over promised system output
  • Difficulty reaching OEM service teams
  • Fake installers collecting advance payments

The new dashboard aims to centralize all these issues under a single, transparent nationwide portal.

Key Features Under Review for SGRD-2026

Early framework discussions indicate the dashboard may include:

  • Complaint tracking ID with real-time status updates
  • State-wise and DISCOM-wise resolution timelines
  • Verified installer directory to prevent fraud
  • Escalation ladder if a complaint remains unresolved
  • AI-based categorization for faster routing to the right department
  • Service history for each rooftop system
  • Consumer feedback ratings for installers and OEMs

The dashboard will integrate with existing state solar portals to avoid duplication.

Benefits for Consumers

If implemented, SGRD-2026 will help homeowners and small businesses:

  • Track complaints without contacting DISCOM offices
  • Get faster resolution from installers and OEMs
  • Verify installer legitimacy before payment
  • Access full repair and service history
  • Ensure transparency in subsidy claim processing

Experts believe this could significantly improve trust in the rooftop solar ecosystem.

Pilot Rollout Expected in 2026

The dashboard is expected to debut in five states during its pilot phase:

  • Maharashtra
  • Gujarat
  • Karnataka
  • Tamil Nadu
  • Rajasthan

A nationwide rollout may follow by late 2026.

SolSetu will continue to track major developments and publish updates as the dashboard’s technical architecture moves toward completion.
